OpenVMS Developer
Remote - Menomonee Falss, WI
We are seeking an experienced OpenVMS Developer to join our Information Systems team. In this role, you will design, create, modify, and maintain applications within an OpenVMS RMS data environment using VMS Basic. You’ll support business operations by developing programs that drive reporting, accounting, statistical analysis, client projects, and critical system functions.
This role blends hands‑on programming with systems analysis, client collaboration, and participation in structured development methodologies such as SDLC, ITIL, Agile, and Scrum.
What You’ll Do: Core Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and test OpenVMS‑based applications in accordance with SDLC and SOC requirements.
- Create and maintain program documentation.
- Perform systems analysis and troubleshoot complex, non‑recurring technical issues.
- Load, analyze, research, and test internal and client data.
- Work directly with internal and external clients to develop custom program solutions.
- Maintain system uptime and support production environments.
- Collaborate with Autorater Administration to support client autorater functionality.
- Perform occasional hardware, software, and network adjustments as needed.
What We’re Looking ForExperience & Education
- 2–3 years of experience in programming/analysis (OpenVMS experience preferred).
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience (3–5 years).
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in VMS Basic and OpenVMS RMS data structures.
- Understanding of SDLC (required).
- Familiarity or willingness to pursue ITIL certification.
- Exposure to or interest in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, especially with complex data or unique issues.
